Greek Characters in MS Windows.
Certain characters may be interpreted by a Web browser as markup, or simply may not easily be accessible from the keyboard. The codes on this page are provided since it can be difficult to add such extended or foreign characters to a page.
Any printing character within the 8-bit character encoding of ISO 8859/1 (256 character positions) or the 7-bit character encoding of ISO 646 (128 character positions) may be represented within the text of an HTML document by a numeric character reference, eg, é which is a small e with an acute accent. Such character entity references should be used in preference to numeric character references. The references are often used to represent characters which form part of the HTML tags, and would otherwise be interpreted by a browser.
The source codes of the characters can be seen directly below the characters in the following tables.

Greek Characters on a MS Windows Compatible Computer
The "font face" tag can be set to a symbol font (which is standard on all computers using Microsoft Windows), ie, <FONT FACE="SYMBOL"> Note that this will only work on a browser operating under Microsoft Windows (and therefore will only be visible here if that is the case).
